How to Register Your Company
Veteran resumes are distributed to employers based on geographic proximity of the candidate to the employer's service area. There are five ways to identify and define your company’s service area to make sure you receive resumes of candidates from across your entire service area:
- Single Location with a service area covering less than 20 mile radius around registered address.
- Branch Offices with either a single corporate contact or with branch manager contacts.
- Multiple Zip Codes to define main office or branch office service areas beyond a 20 mile radius.
- State or Multiple States if your main office or branch office service areas cover entire State(s).
- National if your service area covers the entire United States.
The following instructions will help define your entire service area.
If your service area is not National, nor covers an entire State or Multiple States, define your service area using the 20 Mile Rule defined below.
20 Mile Rule
To adequately define your service area, you will need to add additional zip codes surrounding your corporate or branch office locations in 20 mile increments.
Follow these easy steps:
- Enter your Company Name and select your Company Type
- Fill out the Employer Registration Form with your primary office contact information
- At the bottom of the form under Additional Locations select Multiple Zip Codes
- +ADD allows you to add as many zip codes as you need to cover your service area
Example:
If your service area extends 60 miles in one direction you should identify at least (3) zip codes 20 miles apart to cover that 60 mile area. There is no limit to the number of zip codes you can use. Add as many zip codes as you feel necessary to assure your entire service area is defined. You can use the Multiple Zip Code selection for your main office location, as well as for each branch office location.
*To find zip codes, simply type the word "zip code" and the name of a "town or city" in your favorite search engine.
State Coverage
If your service area covers an entire state or multiple states, you will NOT need to add zip codes to define your territory. If you select State or Multiple States you will receive resumes of candidates from across the entire state. You can make this selection for a single main office location as well as for each branch office.
Follow these easy steps:
- Enter your Company Name and select your Company Type
- Fill out the Employer Registration Form with your primary office contact information
- At the bottom of the form under Additional Locations select State or Multiple States
- +ADD allows you to select State(s)
National Coverage
If you are a national service company you will NOT need to add zip codes to define your territory.
Follow these easy steps:
- Enter your Company Name and select your Company Type
- Fill out the Employer Registration Form with your primary office contact information
- At the bottom of the form under Additional Locations select Nationwide Coverage
* As a national employer all veteran resumes from across United States will be automatically sent to the registered contact person.
Service Companies with Branch Offices Requiring Single or Multiple Contacts
Single Contact Person
If your company has branch offices, but prefer all resumes be sent to a single contact person at your main corporate office, then DO NOT register branch offices. Register only your main corporate office and contact information for the person you wish to receive resumes.
Follow these easy steps:
- Enter your Company Name and select your Company Type
- Fill out the Employer Registration Form with your primary office contact information
- At the bottom of the form under Additional Locations select State or Multiple States or Multiple Zip Codes
- +ADD allows you to define various service areas for each branch using the 20 Mile Rule (listed above).
Multiple Contacts
If you have branch offices and prefer each branch receives resumes directly, register your main corporate office and contact information first. At the bottom of the form you will have the opportunity to register each branch office.
Follow these easy steps:
- Enter your Company Name and select your Company Type
- Fill out the Employer Registration Form with your primary office contact information
- At the bottom of the form under Additional Locations select Multiple Branch Offices
- +Add allows you to add branch location(s) and contact person information for each branch
- Enter location and contact information for each branch and click Save.
- Select Manage to the right of the registered branch office information to define the service area for that branch office.
- Add States or Zip Codes as necessary to define the service area for that specific branch office.
Remember: When adding Zip Codes use the 20 Mile Rule (listed above) to define the service area for each branch location if that location does not cover an entire state or states.
- Review the additional service area information for that branch and select Save.
- Follow the same procedure (Steps 4 – 8) for each additional branch office you would like to add.
